Tim Stevens
From an early age, Mr. Stevens was fascinated by maps and was curious about the world beyond the borders of his small home town in Kansas. He has worked in a variety of occupations but teaching, learning, and service have been central elements throughout his career. Mr. Stevens has taught geography, healthcare administration, and substance abuse program management courses and seminars at the college and adult learning levels.
Mr. Stevens is currently a Department of Defense employee who serves as the Deputy to the Commander for Quality and Safety, Munson Army Health Center, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. He has oversight of Patient Safety, Performance Improvement, Accreditation and Compliance, Patient Advocacy, Risk Management, Infection Prevention and Control, Credentials and Privileges, and Facility Safety.
In 2020, Mr. Stevens retired from the Air Force/Air National Guard after 37 years of service. During his final military assignment, he was the Air National Guard Medical Forces Advisor to the Air Force Surgeon General, Headquarters Air Force, Falls Church, Virginia. His diverse career includes assignments in international affairs and human resources in addition to healthcare. His other key positions include: Commander, 175th Medical Group; Deputy Commander, 190th Medical Group; the first Bilateral Affairs Officer, Office of Defense Cooperation, U.S. Embassy, Yerevan, Republic of Armenia; Chief, Military Equal Opportunity; Substance Abuse Program Manager—Air National Guard, Counterdrug Directorate, National Guard Bureau; Water Quality Coordinator; Senior Aerospace Science Instructor, Oakland Mills High School; English teacher, Osawatomie High School.
Mr. Stevens is board certified in healthcare management as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and is a Certified Patient Experience Professional (CPXP). He received the 2015 Air National Guard Medical Service Corps Commitment to Service Award and was recognized as the 2005 Air National Guard Outstanding Global Health Officer.
